Duration of Group Class: 1 hour
Description:
Participants will engage in chair exercises using active range of motion and/or therabands to target:
● balance and fall prevention
● strength for daily activities
● posture and pain reduction
● overall confidence with movement
*Classes are designed to be chair accessible, low-impact, and adaptable for a wide range of abilities (including those with chronic conditions or mobility limitations)
*Therapy equipment (i.e: theraband, blood pressure cuff, sanitizing wipes, gloves, etc.) will be included with the class. A designated space and chairs must be provided by the facility
*The first 10 minutes of class are reserved for optional wellness checks, including free blood pressure screenings and generalized OT consultations as needed.
Portia is currently employed as an occupational therapist with Baltimore City Public Schools full-time and delivers occupational therapy for older adults part-time. She has 14 years in OT experience serving both pediatric and geriatric populations in skilled nursing, inpatient, outpatient, home and school settings.
